The Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy is actively preparing for the 17th General Chapter, which will begin on May 4th with a day of recollection for the delegates. For the last nine months, the Sisters were making a novena of prayer before this event which is important for the Congregation and the Church. At the beginning, the Chapter will summarize the six-year term of office of the outgoing General Administration, and then the new one will be elected, with a new Superior General for another term in the Congregation. The proceedings coincide with the Jubilee of Mercy and the eyes of the Church are turned in a special way to this gift of God for our time, which is the legacy of the life of St. Faustina and the message of Mercy that she communicated to the world as required by Jesus Christ. Hence, the theme of the meeting will be the words from the Congregation’s Constitution which talk about the inclusion of the Congregation into the work of Merciful Christ.
