Unveiling of the memorial plaque in honor of Congregation’s Foundress Mother Teresa Eva Sułkowska Countess Potocka (of the Sułkowski princes) at the Church of St. Anne in Wilanów. Warsaw. The plaque commemorates the stay and prayer of the Foundress in Wilanów, as well as the first requiem Mass that was celebrated there beside the Foundress coffin. Joseph Cardinal Glemp former Primate of Poland celebrated Mass and unveiled the plaque. Also on this day, the gravesite of the Congregation in Powązki, Warsaw was blessed after thorough renovation. The mortal remains of Mother Teresa Potocka as well as close to 90 sisters rest there.

150th Anniversary of the Establishment and Work of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. Metropolitan Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz was the main celebrant of the grand jubilee celebration in Warsaw on Żytnia Street. During the celebration at the Parish Church of Divine Mercy and St. Faustina (former Chapel of the Congregation), the Cardinal blessed the memorial tablet commemorating the time when Mother Teresa Potocka, Foundress of the Congregation, and S. Faustina Kowalska, Spiritual Co-Foundress stayed in this place. Also on the occasion of this special day, Holy Mass at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Cracow-Łagiewniki was celebrated and broadcasted by TVP with Bishop Jan Zając presiding.

Congregation’s Jubilee Pilgrimage to Rydzyna – place where Foundress Mother Teresa, from the princely line of the Sułkowskis and Potockis, spent her youth and childhood. The Metropolitan Archbishop of Poznań Stanislaus Gądecki was the main celebrant of the solemn Jubilee Mass. About 300 sisters, priests, wards of the Congregation’s center for girls, Faustinum members and invited guests participated.

The XVII General Chapter starts in Derdy. On 12 May, the General Superior M. Petra M. Kowalczyk is entrusted the service for a second term. Sister M. Gracjana Szewc is elected Vicaress General. The following Sisters are elected to the General Council: Sr. Agnieszka Piechnik, Sr. Miriam Janiec and Sr. Natalia Wideł. The office of the General Treasurer is held for the next six years by Sr. Benedykta Stefaniak.

World Youth Day in Krakow. The patrons of WYD were St. Faustina and St. John Paul II. Before the meeting in Krakow, young people from 187 countries visited various dioceses, and during the WYD they come to the Łagiewniki Shrine of Divine Mercy to pray at the grace-famous image of Merciful Jesus and the tomb of the Apostle of Divine Mercy.

Three sisters: Sr. Solange Pereira (a Brazilian, who served in Poland for 20 years) as Superior, Sr. Christofora Jagla, and Sr. Hieronima Kuta go to Rio de Janeiro to set up a new house of the Congregation in Brazil and start a permanent ministry there to proclaim the message of Mercy by deed, word and prayer.

Bishop Rafał Markowski consecrates the Church of Divine Mercy and St. Faustina in Warsaw at Żytnia Street and reads the decree from Kazimierz Cardinal Nycz on the establishment of this church as a Shrine of Sister Faustina. Until the Warsaw Uprising (1944), the church was the chapel of the house of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy.

At the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki, at the tomb of St. Faustina, Ottavio Vitale, R.C.I, Bishop of the Diocese of Lezhë in Albania, grants ordination to diacon Michał Adam Nowak of the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus on the anniversary of St. Faustina’s perpetual vows.

Completion of the 15 years of ministry (2002-2017) by the Congregation in Jerusalem, at the Collegium Biblicum Franciscanum at Via Dolorosa in the Old Town and the Shrine of the Flagellation of the Lord Jesus. At that time, the Sisters published the Diary of St. Faustina in Arabic, in addition to minor publications, and they organized celebrations in honor of Divine Mercy and St. Faustina in Jerusalem, prayed for the Mercy of God in the Holy Land and the whole world.

Bishop Marek Marczak consecrates a new convent of the Congregation in Lodz, at Krośnieńska street. In this house, owned by her uncle Rapacki, Helena Kowalska—future St. Faustina—lived at the turn of 1922/1923. A chapel is established on the ground floor, in the apartment. Sister Benedetta Flak becomes the first Superior of the new community of the Congregation.

Centenary of the apostolic ministry of the Congregation in Radom’s Church of Our Lady of Mercy, with the participation of Bishop Henryk Tomasik, the head of the Radom Diocese, many priests and residents of the city. After Holy Mass, a conference entitled “100 years of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Radom” takes place.

Activity launched in a newly built catering and trade pavilion for pilgrims, the so-called “Green Passage”, which houses the Home of St. Faustina Restaurant, gift shops and the “Misericordia” publishing establishment.

Just before Christmas, renovation of the convent at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki, which lasted for several years, is completed. With the support of the Department of Culture and National Heritage of the City of Krakow, the Social Committee for the Restoration of Monuments of Krakow, the Church Fund, Donors, and the Congregation itself, all the exterior walls of the convent buildings regained their original beauty after more than 120 years.

Completion of the renovation of the convent chapel of the grace-famous image of Merciful Jesus and the tomb of St. Faustina. New electrical installations, sound system, security system are installed, along with illumination and restoration of all altars, paintings, statues and wall paintings.

150th anniversary of the Congregation in Krakow. Holy Mass in the Church of Divine Mercy at Smoleńsk Street (the first house of the Congregation). On May 19, celebration is held at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki with the participation of Archbishop Edward Nowak from the Vatican, many priests, parents of Poland’s President Andrzej Duda, the city authorities with the City President, Prof. Jacek Majchrowski, district authorities, representatives of the Ministry, the Board of Education, municipal services, benefactors, donors and friends of the Congregation. A scientific session entitled “From mercy to Mercy” is held with a book publication, Holy Mass presided over by Bishop Jan Zając. Lunch and a special arts program follow.

Broadcast of the prayer at the Hour of Mercy and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy from the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki is launched by the first foreign TV station (from Italy), which uses the on-line stream from www.faustyna.pl. Since January 1, 2018, full on-line transmission has been available on cable television in Poland, and since 2013—from 11 radio stations in Poland and the USA. The video stream is also available in the Faustyna.pl application for Android (since April 2016) and iOS (since October 2017).
