Between 22 and 24 of January, the Servant of God Anna Jenke Center for Culture and Christian Formation in Jarosław wil hold a symposium entitled “Faces of Mercy”. It will be devoted not only to the discussion of the theme of mercy in the Bible and Christian theology, but also in other areas of life where sensitivity to the topic of mercy should be developed. On January 23 at 4:00 pm, Sr. Christofora Jagła from the convent of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki will speak about mercy in the writings and lives of St. Faustina and St. Pope John Paul II. The lecture will be followed by prayer at the Hour of Mercy and reciting the Chaplet of Divine Mercy in the Greek Catholic Church of the Transfiguration in Jarosław, famous for the icon of the Mother of God known under the unusual name of the “Gate of Mercy” which is venerated there. This seventeenth-century icon was also received at the Vatican by Pope Francis at the beginning of the Jubilee of Mercy.
